Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to provide L2 support for our application ecosystem, including voice/chat applications, map applications, VPN, and Mobile Device Management. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux skills and database management expertise.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Serve as the first level of escalation for all application issues and user interfacing
Work with application teams for deployment and integration problem resolution
Monitor and manage databases (Postgres/MySQL), including setting up replication across locations
Perform Linux OS administration and execute hands-on operational tasks
Deploy and manage PHP, Java services such as Tomcat & Apache HTTPD
Create and maintain bash scripts and other automation tools
Execute commands to perform health monitoring of applications deployed at Server Farm
Capture logs, perform first-level analysis, and share with L3 team for remote support
Work onsite during crisis situations with remote L3 support
Support customer L1 support team on fixing enrollment/re-enrollment/TSP change related issues
Maintain accurate ticket records in the ticketing system and issue register
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong documentation and organizational skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Adaptable and responsive to changing priorities
Qualifications & Skillsets:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
5+ years of experience in application support or system administration
Strong knowledge of Linux OS administration
Experience with database monitoring and management (Postgres/MySQL)
Proficiency in bash scripting or other scripting languages
Knowledge of web services such as Tomcat, Apache HTTPD
Experience with PHP and Java applications
Understanding of Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems
Familiarity with VPN technologies and voice/chat applications
Experience with log analysis and application monitoring tools
